Productive
Sales Consultant (Former Employee) - Potchefstroom, North West - 28 July 2022
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI enjoyed the pick n pay company job, and I learned that Hard working is way more important than being loved at time of working, because due to the culture of that company is way more excellent in rate. So love them all but trust No one.

Toxic work culture, too much politics
Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee) - Blackheath, Gauteng - 4 June 2022
Very long hours of work. No personal family life, especially if you have a wife and kids, you hardly see your familiy. Effort is not being noticed by the big bosses , very ungrateful, some of the big bosses don't know how to treat people with respect, they look down on you
Pros
Good salary, incentives for senior management, medical aid
Cons
Very long hours, no personal life

Hard work with long hours
Employee (Former Employee) - Cape Town, Western Cape - 5 May 2022
Great place to learn, but it is a very tough environment. Work is everything and family life normally suffers. If you need a fast paced environment where you need to think n your feet, this can be for your. It can be very stressful at times with very long hours. Career opportunities are available if you want to stay in retail.

No room for growth
Baker (Current Employee) - Cape Town, Western Cape - 5 March 2022
The company has kept me going so far but you live from hand to mouth... Hours is horrible and they pay you way too little for the amount of effort you put in. I'm still a casual after 8 years of my life and there's hardly any room for growth. People leave and doesn't get replaced. People I trained got promoted. It's not about loving your job at the company anymore
Pros
Subsidised lunch
Cons
Long hours and no room to grow

It is a great place to be and you gain so much experience when it comes to customer service.
cashier and packer (Former Employee) - Grahamstown, Eastern Cape - 2 February 2022
I was not happy with thier management. They cant communicate with their staff as a matter of fact you would report an incident they will listen but no action would be taken bt once your supervisor reports they are ready to take actions without hearing the other side of the story, other wise i gained so much experience on how to deal with different customers.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Long hours
