Very long hours, No support structure from senior managers.
Litigation Officer / Handler (Former Employee) - Pretoria, Gauteng - 15 August 2023
very long hours, not enough support from management. The workplace culture is not ideal due to not enough management support. There is however great support and team work among officers and their Senior Team officers which i will always cherish.
Pros
knowledge on Public Insurance
Cons
Very long hours, no structure, can get very frustrating, no support from senior management.

Overworked, friendly stuffed but stressful environment
Motor vehicle injuries officer (Current Employee) - Pretoria, Gauteng - 30 July 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Road shows and friendly direct managers What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Too many files. An average person is entrusted with about 2000 files and should they prescribe you risk a warning even if it's not particularly your fault What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Promotion can be based on who knows you. The Upper management plays political games and infighting between managers leaves the lower stuff in a bad position. Minimal chances of growth What is a typical day like for you at the company? Eight until four just sitting behind a computer screen with files to assess and to take to and from different departments

Fun work place
Registration Assistant (Current Employee) - South Africa - 28 April 2023
There's unity from management to the assistant. There's internal communique if there's anything we have to know as the employees. You need to have interpersonal skills because you will be working with all victims of the road accident on a daily basis
Pros
Free sports days
Cons
Short breaks

Claims Officer (Former Employee) - East London, Eastern Cape - 25 October 2022
Assessing files which are on trial at court, answering emails and phone calls, attending departmental meetings. the hardest part of the job was the extreme pressure that i was working under, the targets are reachable but you need to put on effort. the most enjoyable part was doing what i loved, i loved my job so much. my Manager had an open door policy so it was enjoyable working with her.
Pros
Free lunches and recognition when the targets have been met
Cons
Too much work at times its difficult to take lunch you have to work even at lunch

Toxic
Litigation Officer (Former Employee) - Menlyn Park, Gauteng - 18 August 2022
This used to be a great place to work, however it has since changed into a heavy stressful and toxic place. If you are lucky you will report to a great manager, however you are switched from teams at any time and end up working with a horrible toxic manager. You will not cope with the workload and the management is always blaming employees for their failures. The salary is also a scam it looks good on paper but the take home is very bad. Management is always finding ways to dismiss employees and you are always threatened with dismissals or suspension. There is no job security.

Administration Clerk (Current Employee) - Cape Town, Western Cape - 29 May 2022
I have been with the company for 15 years, and to be honest i have had a great experience thus far. Any one working at the RAF has had a very great experience. Its the number one company to work for. Thats my opinion. When you do what you have to do and whats expected from you then things will be awesome.

Balance work life and personal life
Litigation Officer (Former Employee) - Pretoria, Gauteng - 6 September 2021
At time of my arrival at the organisation, there was a lot of project that were embarked upon to get maximum performance of the organisation but that was balance with other sport activities, which made working there less stressful. During evening we will engage in sport activities and some weekend we will have Competitive official games with others branches and stakeholders. This elevated work pressures n improved productivity and high performance.
Pros
Free coffee and tea
Cons
A lot of overtime work which also improved performance of the organisation
