How did you feel about telling people you worked at SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL DEFENCE FORCE?

4 answers

  • Very proud

  • Proud to serve and defend my country and its people in accordance with the Constitution and the law

  • By that time it was like a big thing that you are a soldier as the soldiers were mostly recognized by the post apartheid government. Although salary was not that much but allowances were there compared to our present government who cuts everything out. Now is to be a soldier is joke, too much politics and salary wise is very bad. The national service also makes it worse. If look white were doing national service for a year afte they go back to community, employable. If we look back when we had Tbvc states soldiers were getting much better salaries than now. I think now is better if you have a skill then you become a soldier.

  • It is a great learning curve
