South Africa Police Service is a good organisation but it need the following to improve: 1.Management Skills Most management are not trained to lead.leadership must be improved. 2.It does not take education serious SAPS have a lot of graduate that thier qualifications are not considered e.g if you completed your qualification SAPS must increase your salary or promote you.

Salary

Constables are paid less money while they are the one doing all the work for the officers. If they can adjust the salary level of the constables, the corruption would be reduced because if you are holding a rank of constable you can't afford to buy a house and the car at the same time. Sometimes you have to combine with someone in order to qualify to buy a house.

The work environment needed much attention

The ranks takes too long work environment needs to be looked into safety of members is very poor salary needs to be on top since we working long hours our police stations needs to up grade worst working on the place it’s self toilet facilities too poor you just don’t want to go to work police eating areas they don’t have

Not a fun workplace

If you work for the Saps no matter how hard you work it goes unrecognized you can be hard working and the time you need the states assistance it is always a problem

Unfairly promotion

Police are working very hard for the peanuts they are earning they can't afford to buy house and car at the same time that why I have left the police for better future

Safety

Members have to take own transport to work and from work in full uniform. Members been shot dead for there work guns. No promotions u have to be 11 years or more in one rang to be promote.

Productive environment only for people-orientated persons

Report on duty and get posted to area for the day. Do patrolling in vehicle, attend complaints and accidents, and attend crime scenes. I have learnt to help people and to understand their needs. The hardest part of the job are the constant dangers faced but members get used to it quickly and it becomes a part of life.

Productive with lot of challenges

Saps management is good as long as you do your work professional, treat client with dignity.I learn how you investigate difficult fraud cases and how to handle exhibits.

Hard working deadlined work

Its fast paced always busy not that I mind at all but your efforts aren't seen or noticed by the ones that matter. Its a very stable job with basic benefits

Being a Detective is great, learn new things daily and deal with the community and court matters. Needs more time, theres no benefits for working extra hours.

Work duties are stressfull and long hours. Your life is at risk as you are attending to high profile violent crime scenes. Carrying a fire arm at all times to protect yourself.

good deparment

I was working under pressure long hours per day but the job was exciting, I learn to be patient and to tolerate hard time and I also learned how to handle community and aggressive people, the hardest time when the suspect resist arrest and the insult of the community and when the suspect walk free after commited a serious crime

too much work and lack of resources. the management dont address issues of the workers. work under pressure all the time because most of the time communication is the problem more especially the communication from the management.

the job is very risky but i enjoy protecticting my country

Is very risky more special when you come across the criminal and start shoting at you. I have learn more about our criminal law and the the way crime is cimitted The management are very suportive The job is very enjoyable because we work as a team We some times wor a very long hours where is necessary What i have learn most is to take my our decision at work
