Great experience

I’ve learnt a lot from them. As my first job they did a great job. My senior manager really contributed a lot in my career and having to meet him again at Absa it was a blessing because of the things he taught me along my walks of life

Post office should be privatized

I suggest that Post office to be privatized so that the culture can change and the company will start make profit and win the trust of the community back.

Learn time management and to work under pressure

It was a fun environment but very strict when it comes to work. You need to be prepared for everything that might come up and avoid making mistakes especially unneccessary mistakes because you pay for it.

Pros

Fun

Cons

Long hours

Challenging and have a space for an employee to grow through their ranks

They should install CCTV cameras because money get lost almost everyday from the tills. Meaning tellers still from each other. Tighten security levels. There are no securities on the doors though they have lots of money in the office Banking should be done everyday

Pros

Scoring 90% and above in the office on inspection

Cons

Difficult clients

Great company for growth and stability.

South African Post Office is a great company to work for. Respect among workers, clients and management makes it a place enjoyable to find one's self in. Salary and benefits are good. There is a big room for growth because of the on going training provided by the company.

Pros

Free safety wear

Cons

Long discussions before agreement is reached on annual salary increases.

Productive

It is important to deal with the given task immediately is given to you rather than to wait because at the end of the day you end up not knowing where to start and where to end. To make my job first priority in life, always when I dont understand I ask cause maistakes cause company to lose money as we know office resources are expensive , working as a team helps a lot.

Pros

Free lunc

Cons

Long hours

Pros

there Are glasses in between clients and consultants

Cons

Working seated, It gets really tiring, could use some moving around.

A very hectic place to work at.

My typical day at work it was in 2014 whereby I have to help more than 387 customers alone in the office. On the pensioners day payments. I have to manage the queue and the cash in the same time. I was counting the cash using my hands because there was not cash counting machine. I closed the office so late at 18:00 evening. When it comes in management is was so difficult because my office was a single handed office meaning I was working alone as a Teller, as a Cashier and a Branch manager as well. I have learned how to manage cash and to control the queue. I have learned to manage time and my work. Customers enjoyed my services very much and they were even asking that how do I hope with such a lots of work like that because I have to serve them and respond to my email, opening the incoming mail, dispatching the mail, do a banking, opening the accounts, doing some enquiries for dormant accounts and closed accounts and also making a follow up for track and trace parcels alone.

Pros

sometimes a one hour lunch

Cons

long queues and long hours
