Management

Conservative bank, found it challenging that women views are heard. This lead to being victimised, regardless that the majority of employees are females. There may be nepotism in some divisions within the bank.

Pros

Employee Benefits, e.g. staff rates

Cons

Victimisation of female employees

SBIB is a lekker place to work

I look forward coming to work, as everyday is not the same, there is always challenges which makes my day interesting, I love to learn new things and can adapt to changes easily, I'm very passionate about my job. however I want to grow into a better position and I want to be a successful ambassador. I have been with Standard bank for 14 year. I have been a top performer throughout my career at the bank. I do look after the office when my manager is not in charge that it taking care of 19 sales consultants and 3 team leaders.

The job culture is good

Busy 3/4 times in a month, good working enviroment . I have learned to be professional in my conduct and not personalsing things and systems and processes. hardest part of the job is when you balance things and they are wrong because of the system issues and IT has a difficulty of solving such. Most enjoyable part -is when my job is complete and accurate information is given and timeously, by that I feel I have achieved the expectations.

SBFC fun work place

I walk in 07:00am in the morning, make my morning calls try and catch up with my clients before their day starts, make follow ups and do my admin just before the Branch opens. once the branch is open its business no time to be wasting sitting on the phone or with paper work. I have learned that consistency is key in this job you slack and you lose your business to co-workers or worse external companies. Management and co-workers in SBFC helps one keep it together just knowing that there is someone out there working with you who wants to see you succeed in the business and in your work. The hardest part of the job for me was not having a salary and best part was building my own salary.

Productive and great team work. You learn daily. Management is very strict, but only doing their jobs. Co-workers were always willing to share their knowledge. Dealing with change. The most enjoyable part of my job was the interaction.

Career growth

A typical day at work will start with reflection meetings and feedback of claims paid and challenges met for a previous day. Then if there are any activities for day there will be delegation to head the activity, there'll be a balance of work and fun.I've learned that one should be vigilant at all times when scrutinizing documents whether business or personal. Most of the management positions are headed by females and growth in terms of studies is only limited to your job line(i.e. one can only get financial aid from the department if they plan to study anything along their job line.)My co-workers were a group of enthusiastic, vibrant young individuals who always made it fun to work with. The hardest part of the job would be finding it hard to reach the required target due to insufficient information from clients and supervisors to don't want to listen to reason for claims that have been assessed and authorized but were returned for reassessment. The most enjoyable part of the job is when we interrogate clients suspected of committing fraud on claims because that where you have to exercise your questioning abilities and vigilance on scrutinized documents. The other one is incentives reaching a target set for the day and being the highest fraud detector for a month.

Pros

incentive and recognition

Cons

no team building activities.
