Interaction and work experieces
MY job at standard bank required me to work with money and and customer accounts, end of day cash up as well as customer service and sales. The staff were like a family, we treated each other with respect. The workplace was warm and welcoming but at times stressful. For me the hardest part of my job was dealing with cash and making sure that your accounts balance at the end of the day. The one thing i enjoyed about working for standard bank was the type people you get to meet every day.
Overall had a great experience working at Standard Bank however if you do suffer from a mental illness make sure you can handle the fast paced environ
Standard Bank is a great company to work for. The salary & benefits are very decent. Learn a lot about finances & business. Lots of diversity in the workplace. As long as you follow procedures and work hard you will be rewarded.

Campaigns keep us motivated.Staff is like family. Currently furthering my studies, all thanks to the bursary standard bank offered me. Focus 100% if you want to be a successful teller. Growth is up to you as an individual. We're not deprived of learning different roles in the workplace
Bursaries for employees, Hardworkers are always recognised
Meeting sales targets - leads
I would say my day to day job is not so bad, it is only rude customers you need to know and learn how to deal with them. most employee feel that the company lets the customers to abuse us as we are not even allowed to answer back, even if they speak to you like you are nothing, i would like to work for a company who will protect its employee when required. when we are wrong we must be dealt with. Organisation need to check their staff members with regards to education levels and move people accordingly. it is fun to be with fellow workers, we do not often receive recognition only when sales are done , even the bonus we receive i feel it is unfair. we should be rewarded greatly. i love Foreign exchange and would like to learn more or even grow further.
A typical day at work would be easy, not much pressure.Management would be strict but firm.Everyone respected one another's religion. Month end was hectic lots of cash coming into the cash centre. Enjoyable part working with cash,my colleges and the environment.
standard bank was an eye opener for me, as it was only my second job after high school. There I learnt a lot, in terms of time management, the ability to deal with different kinds of people (from customers to the staff). The hardest part of the job, was surprisingly the most enjoyable part for me, which was balancing the till at the end of each work day.
Hectic days I learned how to handle large amounts of cash and be disciplined. I learned to understand people and their needs. Management was the best I would hardly say that there was culture Hardest part was having to tolerate difficult customers and the pressure of having to keep up with the banks targets. Best part of the day was getting leads
