Long hours when needed
Standard Bank was very interesting because you interact with different client and management was cool. We were like a family, I have learned to face difficult client and try to solve their queries. The hardest part of the job was to try to convince client to like certain product and month end was hectic because you need speed and accuracy.

Upskilling meaning growth in company.
Standard Bank is a highly corporate and professional enviornment. It can be intimidating at times, especially the building I am based in, as it is the head office where most of the Executives of the bank are based. One gets to meet the most influential people in the banking industry, from the CEO's to share holders who are well known in South Africa. I enjoy working there, because it has opened my eyes to a world I would have never dreamt exists. It has taught me to dream big, and see beyond the boundaries. The management treats all the staff equally, there is no discrimination according to job type, race, or educational level. They have great morals and Ethics that they take very seriously. The building I work in is very user friendly and comfortable, it is modern and designed to make working fun. I have always been a team player, although i prefer people who share the same passion for my work as i do, because people who slack I believe make a team weak. My co-workers are wonderful, we are all client orientated and serve one purpose, which is to satisfy clients needs. The hardest part of my job would be having tolerance for different characters and having the patience to take blame even when you're not wrong, because the "client is always right". One thing I enjoy most about my job is making clients happy, with the type of service I provide, because if the client is happy I am happy.

I learned a great deal from my time with this company, I learned how to action and compile reports. I Management had a very open door policy and was welcoming of new ideas. Co-workers were friendly and supprotive. The hardest part of the job was having to work weekends while my husband was working away, this took a lot of time from being available to my children. The most enjoyable part of the job was learning new things and meeting new people.
