No longer fun working tgere

Its good in the first few years but tbey dont pay very well. You work long hours and you are paid peanuts . Casuals are underpaid and not treated well . It better when you are on the lernership programme because in that way you get not less than 30 hours unlike when ypu are not on the learnership

Pros

Golden goose reward

Cons

Long hours and underpaid

Productive and fun workplace

It's okay to work there, you have to work hard to earn extra. Work 6 days to earn good money if you're a flexi. When you're permanent, you get every other weekend off.

Pros

Great team building experience

Cons

Long hours

Great staff and interaction with customers

I worked in a store as a casual/flexi. As a flexi you do shift work and can range from different times depending on the schedule. The work itself was not much of a challenge but everyday something new could be learnt. The main downside was that you hardly get weekends of as a flexi unless asked for or in cases of emergency.Leave days were good, lunches were good, team building was proper and Christmas gifting as well. Alexander forbes retirement scheme was also included as a flexi and other few added benefits. Permanent employees have better hours and benefits.Overall wasn't a bad experience, however the way in which management co-ordinated and delegated tasks and functions could have been better.

Pros

Christmas gifting by the company

Cons

Long hours, Working almost every weekend.

Productive

It is a good feeling working at truworths you just need to be alert, active/enthusiasm, committed and willing to learn and work as a team. I learned a lot from truworths especially when it comes to customer service it's very important though I feel the company should be more considerate for flexy workers salary and when giving permanent post. People work 10 years without being promoted it is frustrating

Pros

Free lunches and incentives

Cons

Being flexy worker for a long time

Productive and learning

It is nice to work for this company, you learn alot which helps you to become an expert of any job description. But if you're not permanent like me the money is too low.

Pros

Free tea

Cons

Short hours

Yes they do have them fun days, we call it ACE

It’s been a great journey, I’ve met with amazing supervisors and colleagues but the salary is not enough for the hours we working on. Other than that it’s a great experience, you don’t work under pressure unless it’s month end.

Pros

No they do not give out free launches

Cons

Very long hours. Sometimes you might not get transport if you traveling by taxi

Funny

The managers still want to be bosses instead of leading the people. Its reckless and a bad experience we get. This make us to find it hard to love our Job. This make every black employee to think that Racism is still there. How can one work for you and you pay them R1500 as a salary? How on earth can you survive by that Salary??

Pros

Overtimes payment

Cons

When working Long hours

Loyalty and professionalism

The company valued work and home life balance, most of the time I will be able to go home still refreshed to do house chores, the salary and benefits were fair and market related, people which worked there for a long time are able to grow within the company, management is very supportive, they prioritize employees 's growth and team work encouraged with building activities,

Pros

Staff discount

Cons

Lack of security personnel

Good Space

It was fun and mostly good for a person with good eye like me. The experience I got was worth it. I just want some different environment from the one I got from the store.
