Good organization to work for.

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Wits University is a good organization to work for provided that management at particular departments are able to manage well. Overall I would recommend people to work for this organization as it has good benefits and the environment is pleasant.

Productive and Fun working place

The culture at Wits is very professional and effecient. They hire the best staff who are from diverse parts of the world. The salary is not so good. However, the salary is negotiable. The culture is very open and they are willing to work with each other.

great working environment as we support one another and enjoyable working environment as there lot of supporting structures available.

Going to work is always fun. Best place I have ever worked in my 15 years of working experience. Every position is worth it as it is secured with good benefits. Management very supportive and the culture is good. There is unity. Always promoting and helping people to upgrade themselves. the only hardest part is when there is a student protest as I work in Protection services. I have learned a lot especially team work since I joined.

Great benefits and opportunities

Much of your daily experiences will depend on your line manager's style. There are however many benefits such as study subsidies, unlimited opportunities for promotion and above average annual leave.

Good work environment, not always stimulating.

The environment was great and while the work was not challenging it was stable and provided sociable work hours. It paid well for what it was and the country in which it is based.

Pros

Good hours

Cons

Worthwhile Experience

It was a good working experience. The hours are not too long 8 AM to 5 PM. I gained experience in my field by specialising. Lack of support is the problem at the institution which requires improvisation.

enjoyable job experiences

All the jobs that i have experienced included working with people, of all ages, I have been able to work in professional environments, retail, supervising children and independent work. I can adapt to any surrounding and because of this i have had pleasant outcomes in any field i have been in. I enjoy socializing and my attitude is always positive and optimistic, balancing my studies while working is sometimes challenging however i do it for the benefits in the long run as work experience is something i prioritize.

World Class Employer

Good reasonable working hours. No day is really the same as the next. Management leaves you to get on with your work, of course they will be on your case, as they should, if there is non-performance. Everyday is relatively enjoyable as long as you are a good and responsible worker.

Wits is wonderful

A typical day consists of research. I am still a student so I do not earn a salary. The workplace culture is positive and uplifting. The hardest part of my day is the long hours.
