working at vodacom vodacom had its challanges but over all working with the staff and cuatomers was exciting just the salary that was disapointing.
Sales Consultant (Former Employee) - pre - 11 January 2022
Tipical day at vodacom would entail dealing with customer queries, sales, simswaps and new contracts. Learned a great deal in how to deal with customers and about sales in general. Management was good and would always be available to assist us with what ever problems we encountered. Hardest part of my job was Salary. The most enjoyable part was helping customers to solve the queries.
Pros
incentives
Cons
Salary

Salary was too little
Sales Consultant (Former Employee) - Cape Town, Western Cape - 1 July 2021
Management was not fair. Constant deductions from your little salary. So much stress and work yet so little paid. Cut salaries over a year due to covid-19 and was not raised since. The hours was long 10-11 hour shifts. Mangers are rude and speak to their employees in an unfriendly manner. Complaining to head office about any issues having in your workplace does not get acknowledged.
Pros
Commission if you work hard only in a busy located store
Cons
long hours and little pay

I love the job
If the customer foot count is good your sales is good too
If the economy is doing great
So are we
Its target driven
So you always motivated
Even when target is achieved for the month you keep pushing
The sales
Thats what makes a good cons
Pros
You decide your salary
Cons
10 hour shift

Sales Consultant (Current Employee) - Polokwane, Limpopo - 15 July 2020
Vodacom is not a good company, you can go extra miles doing your job perfectly but we don't get paid what we do, we come to work even if you sick. I can not relay on this company because there is no benefits.even if you can work for company many years no increase no benefits

you make your work enviroment fun
Sales Consultant (Current Employee) - Benoni, Gauteng - 12 January 2019
Working in retail is very difficult because one gets one day off and their are no benefits,You hardly get time to spend with your family. Its time demanding. The benefits are that there basic and commission.
The only time you can have fun is when you are not at work.
retail needs one to be emotionally strong and in control of their feelings because there will come a time where a customer starts shouting or provoking you at times becomes physical. there this term which states "A CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT" this is why you need tp be in control of your feelings.
You must be willing to sacrifice not spending time with your family during the festive season as it gets busy and the working hours are extended.
Pros
one hour lunch break .
Cons
not being able to spend time with your family
