I have learned to be patient,I was reporting to 4 managers and I had to understand them all and sometimes it was challenging.

Working with a positive team makes things easy and more sales, being productive at work is the best for the business and for your self because you will be building a name for your self and you will be recognized by your manager and that brings fun most of the time.working long hours is a normal thing in retail but communication is important between staff and management. Free lunches is the way of saying thank you to your team it's a good thing it sometimes motivate the team to put more effort

Poor management, favouritism

Management are unprofessional and victimize people not much assistance to get help as they all stand together to bring you down only thing I enjoyed about working at Woolworths was the work that I did and having to collaborate with my team however, the downfall was having to do everyone else job too and not being valued or noticed,Management will always override you on every level, the higher authority within the business doesn't care about you, you are seen as just a number.

Productive and fun working place with a very motivational lifestyle

As a previous wollies worker...I know ,understand and respect the culture and the exceptional customer service...and really hope it could affect all retailers...as it pushes you from that relaxing mode and energized you for keeping the customers back to your store...I really appreciate and love wollies ....mostly the values

Little money, bad management

Public holidays like Christmas do not matter, all they care about it making money on those days, your basic pay is R3200 which isn’t enough to get by and management does not care about employees wellbeing

To get away with Weekend manager and transform people to real Managers. They working very hard and earn peanuts.

I enjoyed working under my supervisor who was an inspiration and very supportive. I learned about customer services. I started as a cashier, to customer services, PPC and Card consultant. The region manager was the best!!! It was not fun with me because i put a lot of effort but my salary was very low, however I enjoyed being a consultant and won SHOSHOLOZA, however I was very disappointed when I received R100 GIFT CARD.

Pros

During special occasions.

Cons

Weekend when we close at 21:00 that was very long.
