Support the Clinic Sister coordinate the day-to-day occupational health clinic services. Manage pre-employment, periodic and exit medical examinations. Maintain confidential medical records and ensure compliance with occupational health legislation. Coordinate employee wellness initiatives, including blood donation drives, HIV counselling and testing, TB awareness and testing, annual eye testing, and other health promotion programmes through approved service providers.

Health & Safety Management

Assist in implementing and maintaining the Company's Health, Safety and Environmental Management System. Conduct workplace inspections, hazard identification and risk assessments. Monitor compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies and statutory requirements. Investigate unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and near misses, and monitor the implementation of corrective actions. Maintain statutory health and safety records, legal appointments and compliance documentation. Compile monthly HSE reports and monitor key safety performance indicators.

Incident & Accident Management:

Attend serious workplace incidents and after-hours emergency callouts when required. Participate in incident investigations and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Working with Managers or Foremen, prepare investigation reports with findings, corrective actions and preventative recommendations. Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions. Report incidents to relevant authorities where required.

RMA / COIDA Administration:

Administer and maintain records for all occupational injury and disease claims. Assist with investigations relating to workplace injuries. Liaise with employees, medical practitioners and the Compensation Fund/RMA regarding claims. Maintain accurate statutory records and ensure claims are processed within prescribed timeframes.

Security Coordination:

Provide after-hours support for significant security incidents across company facilities. Attend security-related incidents where required. Conduct investigations into security breaches and prepare comprehensive investigation reports. Liaise with security service providers and recommend corrective measures to minimise future risks.

Health & Safety Training

Coordinate and facilitate statutory Health and Safety training programmes. Train Managers and Foremen annually on their legal responsibilities in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Conduct annual training for Health and Safety Representatives on their duties and responsibilities. Prepare and maintain statutory Letters of Appointment and training records.

Emergency Preparedness

Support the implementation of emergency response procedures. Coordinate emergency drills and ensure emergency equipment inspections are conducted. Participate in emergency response activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
