The Public Servants Association of South Africa (PSA) is a registered Trade Union in terms of the Labour Relations Act, 1995 and is non-profit Company in terms of the Companies Act, 2008.

  • A relevant full qualification with at least a NQF level 6 (Diploma/Advanced Certificate) plus 5 years relevant experience OR a Matric / Grade 12 or any other relevant full qualification with a NQF level 4 value plus at least 9 years relevant experience (Employment Law and HR Environment)
  • A valid driver’s licence

*(full qualification = at least 120 credits)


  • Ability to effectively communicate in English and Xhosa
  • The successful candidate should possess good interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • A relevant post-graduate qualification
  • Knowledge of and the ability to apply labour law principles and manage collective bargaining and dispute resolution processes
  • Proven experience of legal drafting
  • Admittance as an attorney


  • Provide Labour Relations advice and/or representation to members with regard to disciplinary hearings and grievance disputes
  • Case management
  • Establishment of bargaining and consultative forums
  • PSA Representative/ Negotiator in bargaining and consultative forums
  • Capacitate Shop Stewards and structures to enable them to fulfil their responsibilities
  • Ensure effective communication to members in respect of regular feedback on registered cases as well as collective bargaining developments, which includes the drafting of articles for the PSA Informus/ Magazine
  • Ensure effective Dispute Resolution
  • Drafting and negotiating collective agreements and ensure quality of agreements
