Host - Base Camp

Become the Host of Base Camp — the heart of the OuteniquaBound crew.

Base Camp is where our community gathers, gears up and heads out. We’re looking for a warm, capable host to run it — someone who greets every member of the OuteniquaBound family like an old friend, keeps the place humming behind the scenes, and brings people together to celebrate the mountains we love.

This is a full-time role for someone who’s equal parts people-person, organiser and doer. No two days look the same — and that’s the point.

What you’ll do

Host & community           

• Welcome new faces and old friends to Base Camp, making everyone feel part of the family from the moment they walk in.           
• Be the go-to face of OuteniquaBound — sharing the story behind the brand, the gear and the trails.           
• Gather and channel feedback from our community, so we keep getting better at what we do.

Sales & inventory           

• Own the sales floor at Base Camp and at expos — connecting people with the right gear and hitting our targets.           
• Manage stock end to end: receiving, counts, replenishment and keeping everything expo-ready.           
• Keep displays sharp and the space looking like somewhere people want to spend time.

Events & experiences           

• Lead our weekly community events — the runs, gatherings and get-togethers that bring the crew together to celebrate our Outeniquas.           
• Handle the logistics, spread the word, and make every event one people don’t want to miss.

Behind the scenes           

• Pitch in on general admin and the day-to-day running of the OuteniquaBound team.           
• Manage opening, closing, cash-ups and reporting so Base Camp runs like clockwork.           
• Roll up your sleeves for whatever the day brings — at Base Camp, we all wear a few hats.

Who you are           

• A natural host who genuinely loves people.           
• Organised and reliable, with a sharp eye for detail.           
• Able to juggle sales, stock and events without dropping the ball.           
• Energised by the outdoors and the OuteniquaBound way of life.           
• Retail, hospitality or events experience is a bonus — but the right attitude matters most.
