Role Overview
The supervisor will coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for maintaining high levels of accuracy, productivity, and safety while ensuring compliance with company policies and South African labour and health & safety regulations.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Production/ Manufacturing dept, transport providers, suppliers, auditors and regulatory authorities. The Warehouse Supervisor will report to the National Warehouse Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise warehouse staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management
- Oversee inbound and outbound operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile variances
- Ensure compliance with OHS Act and company safety standards
- Liaise with transport, procurement, and customer service teams to resolve issues
- Maintain warehouse housekeeping, equipment, and storage optimisation
- Compile and submit operational reports
- Responsibilities not limited to the above
Desired Skills and Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric Certificate (essential)
- Diploma in Logistics/ Warehouse Management
- Warehouse supervisory experience 3 – 5 years
- Exposure to ERP/WMS systems and warehouse automation (desirable) 3 – 5 years
- Health and Safety 3 – 5 years
- Talent Management 3 – 5 years
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Supply Chain Management
- Warehousing & Distribution Practices
- South African Labour Law and OHS regulations
- Warehouse processes (receiving, put-away, picking, packing, dispatch)
- Inventory control and cycle counting
