Full job description
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our Finance team in Sandton.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has strong experience in reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and accounting systems such as Xero.
You will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end processes, managing customer accounts, and assisting with a major accounting system migration project.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reconciliations
- Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
- Reconcile customer accounts and financial transactions
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Maintain accuracy across multiple financial systems
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Manage the full debtors and creditors function
- Prepare and issue invoices and statements
- Process customer payments and allocations
- Assist with customer refunds and account adjustments
- Maintain accurate general ledger records
System & Data Management
- Support the migration from Solid to Xero
- Validate financial data and identify inconsistencies
- Process journals and maintain audit-ready records
- Assist with month-end and year-end procedures
Customer & Stakeholder Support
- Resolve customer billing queries professionally
- Liaise with internal departments to resolve account issues
- Prepare reports and provide audit support documentation
Minimum Requirements
Essential
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Diploma or Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, Finance or related field
- Minimum 2 years' bookkeeping or accounts administration experience
- Experience working with accounting software such as Xero
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong reconciliation experience
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Advantageous
- ICB Qualification
- BCom Accounting or related qualification
- Experience within Technology, Telecommunications, SaaS or Services industries
- Experience with Xero migrations
- Experience using Zoho or similar business systems
