Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Technical Sales Representative to support our growing industrial automation business. In this role, you will serve as the technical expert, providing tailored solutions to our customers and supporting the sales team in achieving growth targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial automation technologies, such as sensors, RFID, and connectivity systems, and will work closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver solutions that enhance efficiency, reliability, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement and Technical Consultation:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers across various industries, including automotive, manufacturing, and logistics.
• Conduct on-site consultations to assess customer needs, identify challenges, and recommend appropriate Balluff automation solutions.
• Provide technical expertise to customers through product demonstrations, system presentations, and application support.

Solution Design and Proposal Development:

• Collaborate with customers to design customized automation solutions using Balluff products (sensors, RFID, industrial networking, etc.).
• Prepare detailed technical proposals, including product specifications, system architecture, cost estimates, and implementation timelines.
• Support the creation of high-quality quotes and technical documentation to facilitate the sales process.

Sales Support and Growth:

• Work closely with the sales team to drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities and expanding market share.
• Ensure that all customer inquiries, from technical questions to post-sales support, are handled promptly and professionally.
• Actively participate in customer presentations, trade shows, and industry events to promote Balluff products and solutions.

Market Intelligence and Feedback:

• Keep up to date with market trends, industry needs, and competitor offerings to maintain a competitive edge.
• Provide feedback to internal teams regarding customer preferences, product improvements, and new market opportunities.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to identify and implement strategies to strengthen Balluff’s position in the market.

Post-Sales Support:

• Provide technical support during and after the implementation phase, assisting customers with troubleshooting and system optimization.
• Offer training on Balluff products and solutions to ensure customers gain maximum benefit from their investments.
• Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field, or equivalent technical experience.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, or a similar role within the industrial automation or manufacturing sector.
• Proven track record of delivering technical solutions and achieving sales targets.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of industrial automation technologies, including sensors, RFID, PLCs, connectivity solutions, and industrial networking.
• Experience with Balluff products or similar automation solutions is highly desirable and advantageous.
• Ability to design and troubleshoot automation systems, with a strong understanding of system integration.

Personal Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A self-starter with a proactive approach to sales, customer service, and business development.
• Willingness to travel as required for customer visits, site assessments, and trade events.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: R30 000,00 - R55 000,00 per month
