The Role


A company in Knysna designing and manufacturing high-quality kitchens and furniture seeks the services of an experienced and mature Factory Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the furniture factory and oversee all aspects of the factory's daily operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Organise the factory and keep it neat.
  • Lead and motivate staff and solve their problems.
  • Maintain compliance with legal regulations, organizational policies, and quality control standards.
  • Oversee production processes and organize maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Keep the work charts up to date.
  • Do the project managing.
  • Scheduling
  • Ordering and purchasing materials
  • Following up with arrival of materials and getting them to site.
  • Liaising with suppliers and getting best prices
  • Lead by example and
  • Ensure that all work produced, such as cabinet making, is of a very high standard
  • Meeting deadlines and getting the products out in time.

Skills and Experience


REQUIREMENTS:

  • A multi-tasker in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Some architectural/building knowledge allowing sufficient expertise to understand the needs of the Designer and to work in tandem online.
  • A bachelor's degree / diploma in a related field such as Business Administration or Industrial Management would be a plus.
  • A certain amount of project experience as a kitchen and furniture designer.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team.
  • Excellent skills to resolve issues that could derail production.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with staff, management, and suppliers.
  • Ability to analyse data, monitor operations, and make informed decisions.
  • At least three contactable references.
  • A driver’s licence is necessary together with own transport.
  • Smoking during business hours is not welcomed.
