Drive Operational Excellence in a High-Performance Manufacturing Environment

Our client is a leading manufacturer seeking an experienced Continuous Improvement / Industrial Engineer to identify opportunities, optimise production processes, and drive measurable improvements across its manufacturing operations.

This role is ideal for an Industrial Engineer who is passionate about Lean Manufacturing, process optimisation, waste reduction and improving operational performance through engineering principles and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility.
  • Analyse production processes and identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and quality.
  • Develop and implement process improvements that reduce waste, downtime and operating costs.
  • Apply Industrial Engineering techniques to optimise workflows, material handling and production methods.
  • Design and improve manufacturing layouts, plant flow and workspace utilisation.
  • Plan, coordinate and maintain manufacturing information and production systems.
  • Monitor production performance and identify bottlenecks affecting output.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
  • Generate and analyse production, KPI and cost reports to support operational improvements.
  • Assist with production planning, capacity improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Evaluate manufacturing equipment, testing processes and production accuracy.
  • Support Production, Quality, Maintenance and Supply Chain teams to achieve operational objectives.
  • Resolve production challenges using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Assist with financial planning, production cost analysis and continuous process optimisation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Tertiary Qualification in Industrial Engineering.
  • Previous proven experience in Continuous Improvement, Process Engineering or Industrial Engineering within a fast paced manufacturing/production environment.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Sound knowledge of Industrial Engineering principles and quality management systems.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.

Advantageous

  • Postgraduate Qualification in Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience within heavy fabrication, steel manufacturing or automotive manufacturing.
  • Experience designing plant layouts using MS Visio.
  • Exposure to ERP or manufacturing information systems.
