JOB PURPOSE: This role will focus on unlocking the power of data analysis, modelling and simulation to solve complex Supply Chain opportunities and provide insights for decision making. This role forms part of creating a digital Supply Chain for Pepkor Value Chain Solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

● Working closely with business to identify Supply Chain optimisation opportunities that have a measurable value statement.

● Guide project scoping, define problem statements, data analysis and solution design.

● Build, maintain and execute supply chain network models (e.g. Greenfield analysis, multi-echelon optimisation)

● Work closely with data and software teams to shape and enable deployment of fit-for-purpose, robust solutions that will scale across the company’s digital ecosystem.

● Develop analytics-focused models and what-if scenario simulations that deliver business value and impact.

● Define models to be created and implemented and monitored for accuracy, integrity and robustness.

● Perform sophisticated data preparation in order to reduce and shape data.

● Apply a comprehensive set of predictive and descriptive modelling techniques to achieve business objectives.

● Identify and manage data development challenges, offer suggestions and deploy appropriate solutions.

● Communicate and present analytical findings, results and reports to stakeholders, using data visualisation techniques, to deliver business cases. This will include technical and non-technical audiences.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION

● Relevant degree in Operations Research, Mathematical Science, Engineering or similar

● Valid Driver’s License with own transport

● 3 years’ experience in Data Analysis, Data Science or network modelling

● Experience in a supply chain, logistics, retail and project environment

● Experience in mathematical model development

● Experience in agile methodologies (Advantageous)

● Experience in business requirement specifications

● Experience in Google Cloud Platform, Google BigQuery or similar visualisation tools

● Experience in Cloud SQL, SQL, Python and data science toolkits

● Experience in network optimization software: Optilogic, Coupa/Llamasoft

● Advanced MS Office Skills, particularly Excel and Google Workspace
