Fairview Cheese, a leading, well-established FMCG manufacturing business, is seeking a dynamic SHE Officer to join its high-performing operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in promoting and maintaining a strong safety, health, and environmental culture while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, company standards, and best practices within a fast-paced production environment.

The role requires a proactive, hands-on professional with strong knowledge of SHE systems and compliance requirements, excellent communication and administrative skills, and the ability to support safe, efficient, and compliant operations across the business.

Responsibilities:

• Promote and maintain high food safety, hygiene, and SHE standards across the facility.
• Coordinate Food Safety, GMP, induction, and safety training for employees.
• Conduct routine hygiene inspections, environmental monitoring, ATP swabs, and food safety checks.
• Manage cleaning staff, pest control programmes, chemical controls, and hygiene systems.
• Perform SHE and Food Safety audits to ensure compliance with FSSC 22000 and company standards.
• Monitor contractor, visitor, and employee hygiene compliance, including medicals and return-to-work procedures.
• Maintain accurate SHE documentation, records, and reporting systems.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.

• Relevant tertiary education is advantageous.
• Health and Safety Rep Certifications
• Certificate/diploma in Hygiene, Bacteria and Foreign objects
• At least 3 years' experience in compliance
• Strong knowledge of safety and hygiene standards
• Experience within a manufacturing environment
• Strong computer skills

This role is based in the Winelands area, in Paarl.
